What is it: Intallation monitor, logger, and uninstaller.
When I released the first patcher, I was unaware
that the program had a limitation on the number
of installs that it would monitor. I was also
unaware that the "Create NEW Database" function
was disabled in the shareware version. The
author stated in his documentation and website
that the trial was "Fully Functional". Geez,
shareware authors usually wait until their products
are relatively well established before they start
in with the bold-face lies.
By the way, in order to verify that I'd defeated
these newly discovered limitations, I had to go
through the installation monitoring process a minimum
of four times. Shoot, I could have probably monitored
all the files on my system much faster using paper
and pencil! It took over an hour and I didn't even
have it configured to scan all of my disks. For a
while there, I was afraid that Windows'95 might be
obsolete by the time I got through monitoring 4
installations. It does an excellent job of monitoring,
recording, and displaying the pertinent info but.....
.......godDAMN does it take a long time. Maybe I've
just been spoiled by CleanSweep.
