create professional two-dimensional drawings.
PLCAD is designed for anyone who wants a fast and efficient CAD
program with the power and versatility of standard programs at an

PLCAD was designed to interface with AutoCAD as closely as
possible, so you can master the complete application quickly,
without compromising drafting flexibility. Most of the command
names are the same as AutoCAD, you can type these commands
to run it directly.
The working file for PLCAD is DXF (AutoCAD R13-2000 format),
which can be used by other software applications. PLCAD
supports both ASCII and binary formats DXF file.
The binary DXF file contains all of the information present in an
ASCII DXF file but in a more compact form that takes, typically,
30-40 percent less file space. It can be read and written more
quickly (typically, four ~ five times faster) by PLCAD. Unlike
ASCII DXF files, which entail a trade-off between size and
floating-point accuracy, binary DXF files preserve all of the
accuracy in the drawing database
PLCAD uses most of the same file formats including those for line
types, hatch patterns, and text styles. PLCAD supports SHX and
TTF font files.
