CodedDrag encrypts your personal data using strong encryption algorithms
like Triple DES and Blowfish. It was developed as an example tool to
demonstrate the new possibilities of the Windows 95 / NT 4.0 shell. As
opposed to other similar utilities CodedDrag is fully embedded into the
Windows desktop, relieving the user of overloaded interfaces and a myriad
of not really needed windows. We have designed our program for
multitasking - so it can do its job as background process without
disrupting user tasks.
What's new in this version:
Support for the Rijndael algorithm, which is also known as AES (Advances
Encryption Standard).
Configurable count of passes CodedDrag performs when wiping files.
Improved integrated usage of common libraries like MFC and ATL.
Decreased file size for installation package for faster download and
streamlined installation.
A random-number is included in the data, which is encrypted by CodedDrag.
This ensures that no encrypted data matches another, even if the same
cleartext and same key are used. This function can be turned on/off in
CodedDrag version 2.401.

encrypt/decrypt functionality).
'Scrambling filenames' can be used for hiding the name of original files.
Pop-up-menu associated with CodedDrag's tray icon lets the user configure
the program with just two mouse clicks.
Double-clicking encrypted files automatically initiates an 'open' command,
if the corresponding feature is enabled
Three encryption modes provide the user with exactly the security needed
in his environment.
Context sensitive online help gives you basic information how to use
CodedDrag efficiently.
Configuration Wizard gives you step-by-step guidance for configuring
CodedDrag.
Functionality to wipe files via the context menu.
InfoTip extension allows you to view encrypted file information by simply
pointing at the file.
Tray icon indicates with its color if a key is remembered or not.
Option to force Windows NT 4.0 or later to delete its paging file at
shutdown.
