Clipboard Assistant is a program, which you can use as a text
editor and as a Clipboard extender. You can use it to save your
time in the following situations:
- If you want to restore recent contents of the Clipboard, use
the Previous Clip or the Next Clip commands.
- When you are working with several windows simultaneously or
with a long text, you can accumulate different text fragments
to a solid clip:
- Open Clipboard Assistant, and then open the file you want to
copy into.
- Toggle the Recording option on.
Every text fragment, which you copy to the Clipboard is
inserted into the file as a text, or as an item of the Clip
List (if the Clip List option is on).
- If you want to copy a text from a file into a Windows
application frequently, then:
- 1. Open Clipboard Assistant, then open the file you want copy
from.
- 2. Open the application you want copy into.
- 3. Open Clipboard Assistant by the hot key, which you can
define in the Hot Keys dialog box, or by mouse.
- 4. Select the text, which you want to copy, and then perform
the Paste Out command.
- If you want to copy contents of the previous or the next item
of the Clip List to the Clipboard, use the Copy Previous
Item or the Copy Next Item commands. Also you can use the
hot key, which you can define in the Hot Keys dialog box.
- When you fill a Web form, you can use the Paste Previous Item
or the Paste Next Item commands. You can perform these
commands by the hot keys only. Use the Hot Keys dialog box
to define them.
You can use Clipboard Assistant as a text editor. Basically,
Clipboard Assistant repeats properties of the most widespread
text editors, however it has some features on which it is
necessary to draw attention:
- If you want to restore recent contents of the Clipboard, use
the Previous Clip or the Next Clip commands.
- Bookmarks - You can toggle a bookmark at any line of a file
by pressing the F5 key. You can toggle between bookmarks by
pressing the Alt+Up or the Alt+Down keys (Toggle Bookmark ,
Previous Bookmark , Next Bookmark ).
- Find Text - Allows to search a text in both directions by
pressing the F3 or the Shift+F3 keys (Find ).
- Search such word - Allows to jump between identical words in
the text by pressing the Alt+Left or the Alt+Right keys (
Search Such Word Backward, Search Such Word Forward ).
- Search Matching Bracket û Allows jumping between matching
brackets, matching HTML-tags, matching Pascal reserved words
begin and end by pressing the Ctrl+M key.
- Execute Menu - You can call external programs from Clipboard
Assistant with transferring the name of the current editing
file as parameter, and also open this file by means of
Windows.
- HTML Color - Allows editing colors in HTML-files visually, by
the Color dialog box.
- Syntax Highlighting - Allows highlighting necessary words
with colors or font properties.
