CONTORT is a pictorial manipulation program that takes one or two
existing windows bitmap (BMP) files into one or two SOURCE window(s),
respectively. Scale them, position and merge together (if two source
windows are open) with selectable criteria and transfer the result to
a DESTINATION window. The destination window allows CONTORTING of the
image in rectangular zones, (actually an ellipse bounded by the
rectangle) which can be sized and positioned. Contorting means
explosion, implosion, nudging and twisting. There is a SPECIAL EFFECT
dialog box found from the edit menu. This only works on the
destination window and produces interesting effects by repositioning
pixels according to certain rules. Enough said best try it out on
your optics. Real time adjustment of BRIGHTNESS and CONTRAST is
available as well as an approximation to gamma correction. Color
BLUSHING of the image in the same style of rectangular zones as above
is possible. This is not the same thing as airbrushing. When two
sources are present and one of them is transferred to the destination
it also becomes possible to PORTION MERGE the other source to the
destination. The actual portion is again of the same style of
rectangular zone.
