Instructions: Unzip all the files into your Grabber directory
(where you installed the program).
Then just double click on the PATCH_GR.BAT file.
Patches GRABBER.EXE. When you're done, you may
delete the 3 patch files: 1. grabber.mdf
2. patch_gr.bat
3. patch.exe

1. What is Grabber?
Grabber is a program designed to collect files attached to USENET news articles.
It will automatically handle single or multipart articles. It has support for
uuencoded or MIME/base64 attached objects. The user can set complex citerias and
filters to reduce the amount of unwanted objects (spam). Downloads can be
automatically prioritised based on criteria. Grabber can interact with Dial Up
netwroking to dial up and hang up your internet connection as required. It can
be run in a completely unattended mode to allow articles to be processed overnight
when the load is less. Grabber now includes an incorporated image and text browser
which can be used both to view downloaded images, but to easily add filter criteria
to exclude spammers. Grabber keeps a log of all downloaded objects or articles.

2. Features.
Grabber has the following features -
-> Support for multi part attachments.
-> Automatic decoding of Uuencoded/MIME attachments.
-> User ability to specify elaborate criteria that a news article must
have to be accepted. This helps avoid spam.
-> Does not collect crossposts more than once.
-> Keeps a log of all decoded attachments and includes a image and text
browser to help find and avoid more spam
-> 32-bit multithreaded code.
-> Standard Install/Uninstall support
-> Useful help file and tutorial.
3. What's new in 1.2?
Grabber 1.2 adds new enhancements in the quest to reduce the amount of spam
that has to be downloaded -
-> Each article or attachment is logged to the setup file (the grabber.log
file is no longer used). Details of the article and/or attachments
are kept.
-> Grabber now includes a browser which can display image files or text
files. The user can navigate around the log of all downloaded articles
or attachments. When a text or image file is clicked on, it is shown
in the browser window.
-> The user can simply click Kill Site or Kill Person from the selected
article in the browse window and that user or site will be excluded
from further downloads.
-> The log can be shown in various orders/groupings to help identify
"serial spammers"
-> The amount of time between auto saving can now be user defined.
-> The crossposting handling has been replaced and now works correctly,
and Grabber does not collect crossposts more than once
4. Notices.
Permission is given to copy this program, as long as all the files are
transferred, and the program is not copied in a registered form.
Grabber is distributed as shareware. It can be used up to 30 times as an
evaluation, after that it can be registered to allow unlimited use. Register
