│ TravelTade is loosely based on that old favourite Monopoly. However │
│ there are many major differences as follows:- │
│ │
│ 1) Instead of visiting streets in those boring old towns like London │
│ and New York you travel the world landing on Sites which are cities │
│ in many countries of the world. │
│ │
│ 2) In this game you are playing wily old George, the computer, so │
│ there can be no cheating as when played with Aunty Lily and Uncle │
│ George. │
│ │
│ 3) The ultimate objective of the game is to own as many Sites and │
│ Propertiesas possible so that it is more and more expensive for │
│ George to land on them. Eventually he, or you, will visit a city or │
│ have a disaster you cannot pay for and you are then out of the game. │
│ You and George each start with the same lump sum of money and as you │
│ buy sites and properties the value of your Assets increase. The │
│ losers Total Worth - assets plus cash - is then added to the │
│ winners Total Worth and this figure becomes a High Score. │
│ │
│ 4) To be able to build any Properties you must have a Monopoly in │
│ the countries where you wish to build. │
│ │
│ 4) Each time you go round the board you will visit the Bank where │
│ you receive interest on your cash and can take out a loan on your │
│ assets or repay a loan. │
│ │
│ 5) There is no escaping the occasional visit to your Broker who may │
│ have good or bad news about the state of your Assets. │
│ │
│ │
│ 5) From time to time you will meet Meet Georgeand may do some │
│ wheeling and dealing over sites. │
│ │
│ 6) Sometimes you will jump into your private jet or yacht and go off │
│ to who knows where. This costs you money and you can never be sure │
│ where you will end up. │
│ │
│ 7) You may also take the odd vacation - really checking out the │
│ competition - going on Safari or Skiing in the mountains. This costs │
│ you money and turns. │
│ │
│ 8) Visits to the Hospital are mandatory and you just have to hope │
│ there is nothing too seriously wrong with you as treatment tends to │
│ be rather expensive. │
│ │
│ 9) That's Lifecan change your financial situation for better or │
│ worse as in real life. However you may be lucky and be able to buy │
│ insurance to cover the worst of disasters or your hospital bills. │
│ │
│ 10) Then of course, if you are a gambling man, you may like to try │
│ your hand at throwing the dice when you visit the Casino. │
│ │
│ Basically you will be told what you can or cannot do as the game │
│ progresses, so why not get in there and see if you can beat George │
│ at his own game. │
