ProJPEG¬ has been the ultimate JPEG tool for Web graphics
professionals for over years, providing ease, power, control,
superior image quality, and the most file size savings to improve
the effectiveness of Web sites and ease of authoring. ProJPEG¬ is
a file-format plug-in for Adobe Photoshop 3.0 or greater providing
true seamless integration with Photoshop and open and save
simplicity, eliminating the need to use multiple applications for
Web JPEGs.
Version 6 brings significant changes to ProJPEG, starting with
native support for MacOS X. ProJPEG 6 is a filter plug-in format
instead of a file format plug-in like previous versions. The image
previews can now be zoomed by holding down option on the
Macintosh version or control on the windows version and clicking
anywhere in the preview. Holding down shift at the same time
causes the previews to zoom out. Another new feature is the
ability to choose between alpha channels passed to the filter (by
selecting them in the Channels palette before invoking the
ProJPEG filter in PhotoShop) for smoothing masks. To make the
selection of a mask less confusing, a thumbnail image of the
currently selected mask is shown.
