Instructions:
=============
Step #1 Make sure the file to be patched (FontFX.exe) is the
correct one. The patch will NOT work on other versions
or files of different size than stated.
Filename : FontFX.exe
Version : 1.10.121 (32-bit) --> click HELP|ABOUT to check version
File Size: 1,539,584 bytes
File Date: 07/03/97 (July 03)
Step #2 Unzip the patcher (ffx110-c.exe)* into the directory
where you installed the program. Then just double click
on this file. You will see a DOS window pop up and some
text appear in the window. The window will then automat-
ically close. In the program directory where you ran the
patch, you should see that file date of the (now)patched
program has changed to the current date. Also, a new file
will be created in that directory. This is an unpatched
copy of the file that was patched, and will have the same
root filename but the extension will be either .OLD or .BAK
When you're done, you may delete the patch file (ffx110-c.exe)
What the patch does: Patches the program executable. Patching is process
that involves changing the value of some of the program
bytes in a way that "neutralizes" or bypasses the
program's protection.
Why is this patcher larger (~45 Kb) than others I've used?
The patch was created using a program called MDiff. The way
this program is coded, it produces patches that are a minimum
of around 43 Kb.
Notes: DO NOT expect this patch to work on ANY other version of
FontFX!! It works ONLY on version 1.10 build-121
Also, this is one of those rather complicated (for me) graphics
programs that I'd never used before. I know it expires, that should
be fixed now. However, I don't know if there are any other limitations.
I didn't want to have to learn and use every feature to find out if
they have limitations. The HLP file didn't mention anything except
expiration.
Patched using MDiff for Windows patcher. Thanks PC;-)
