Ember is a very good image browser / viewer, available from FireHand
Technologies, at http://www.firehand.com/Ember.
Type of crack: valid-key-check removed, registry entry for user.
How to apply: Download and install as normal the Firehand Ember
program. It'll run itself once, put up an annoy screen,
ask you to select registry associations, etc. Do as it
says, then exit.
Edit the enclosed EMBER.REG file, change the user to be
yourself or whomever, and ignore the key. Double-click
the .reg file, and it'll install into your registry.
Put the enclosed MICPatch.exe and MICPatch.pat file into
the directory you installed Ember into, and run the
MICPatch program from there. It'll say it's patching
Ember32.EXE and EmberView32.EXE, and if it's the right
version, it will succeed.
That's it, Ember now assumes any value in the 'key'
entry is valid.
Special Bonus: Included in this archive (and probably any future
MIC releases) is the source to the MICPatch program
including a quick description of how to use it to
generate your own patches for programs!
