GoodLook is a software that makes arhives of digital photos or other
kind of graphics. It can make archive of 3 kinds ZIP archve
Self-extracting archive (SGA) with some features, such as: embeded
viewer graphical comments that can be applyed to the pictures text
descriptions, custom filterable fields and weblinks that can be
applyed to the pictures filter password protected areas of the
pictures ZIP enveloped archives of previous kind The grahics are
stored in the archive in JPEG format; you can change compression
level to get an optimal ballance of archive size and quality of the
pictures. Self-extracting graphic archive is an executable file. When
it runs thumbnails of the pictures are shown in the left part of the
window; selected picture is shown in the main part of the screen.
Small details of the picture can be seen through virtual magnifying
glass. Thus pictures can be viewed without extraction or extracted
from the archive as files in JPEG format. Additional information can
be applyed to each picture in the archive. This information can be:
Graphic comment; this is an object that points on some detail of the
picture and contains text comments about this area. Graphic comment
is not a part of the image but an object placed on the picture. Thus
you can turn off visibility on these objects if you wish see the
picture without them. Text description; this is a memo field for each
photo. Custom fields; these are set of pairs field-name --
field-value. Fields can be a text, weblink mail weblink or "buy-now"
weblink. The last kind of field is designed for web-merchants who
want to send to their customer photos of the goods they offer.
Pictures in archive can be filtered by keywords in graphic comments,
text description and custom fields. Some areas in pictures can be
hidden with password protected areas. If users who browse archive
click this area they are asked to enter password. If entered password
is incorrect nothing happends. If the password is correct the
protected area disappears and the picture becomes visible in whole.
Users who doesnt have password can get it from web; the link with
correcponding URL can be placed in the password dialog.
