Do not be online! -- yet ;) - This will add to your troubles. Get offline.
You heard me - NO TCP/IP for you for the moment!
Install HotDog 5.5 Webmaster Suite -- Do not run it for the first time yet.
Copy the HotDog file SausReg.exe in c:\windows\system to the directory where
the HotDog55.com patch is.
Rename the HotDog file SausReg.exe in the C:\windows\system dir to SausReg.bak.
(total Safety-Net move here)
Run the HotDog55.com patch in the same dir as the copied SausReg.exe
It will patch the following address:
0001CD2C: 95 94 --- Just changes the logic in the file a touch.
Copy the patched SausReg.exe file back to the c:\windows\system directory.

What we've done so far: Patched the registration system so that when it checks
with the server when you try to start this thing when you're online it won't
bomb out because you're not running with a REAL key -- more on the REAL key
thing in a few.

Now start HotDog.
BANG -- it asks you for a key. Wonder why?
Hmmm - Is it "in a few" yet? ;)
HotDog's key system is two-fold. Thus the problems most people encounter.
The Key System
--------------
1 - Make sure you have a valid key! No key - no access.
2 - Make sure the valid key you have is registered with Sausage
Software's online key site -- secure.sausage.com
Not valid there - no access - Kick back to the reg system for
a new key entry from user.
We've defeated the second part with what we did above. Now... Let's get this
thing a key.
*NOTE: Be smart and put in bogus reg info! No real name or email address here!
This proggie tries to talk to the company remember???
Use the included keygen -- (I noticed it does kick out some invalid keys) or
find one online... there should be plenty of them. ;) But try things like:

Close HotDog completely - no copies running!
Go online, Yes -- now you can TCP/IP all the hell and back.
then try to run HotDog and see what happens. If it comes up and lets
you in without kicking you back to the Registration menu...
