What is it: Utility for managing programs that start automatically
when Windows is booted. Handles programs that are
started from any of the "Run" Registry keys, as well as
those that are started via the System StartUp folder.
Patch Details:
Target file : StartEd.exe (465,408 bytes)
Backup file : None
Patcher size: 949 bytes
Instructions:
1. Close the StartEd program if you have it running.
2. Unzip the patcher (stred360.exe) to the directory where you
installed the StartEd program.
3. Double click on the patcher (stred360.exe).
4. When finished patching, you may delete the patcher.
5. No need to enter any registration info.
IMPORTANT: Please realize that the program is a crippled demo
and cannot be registered. The patcher enables the
SAVE and RESTORE features but does NOT enable the
activation/inactivation toggling of individual items
via the check-boxes in the GUI. I'm not 100% sure,
but it appeared to me (during debugging) that the
demo did not possess the code that is necessary for
this function.
In any case, it's still quite easy to toggle the
activation state of any Registry or StartUp folder
item. To do this, simply double click on the item
that you want to edit. The command line for that
item will show up in the window above the list of
items. To inactivate (disable) the chosen item
just insert "REM" (no quotes) at the beginning of
the command line and hit the REPLACE button.
To re-enable the item, just delete "REM" from the
item's command line and hit the REPLACE button.
