LANsurveyor is easy to use, proven network and desktop management
software. LANsurveyor is unique because it provides four essential
functions in one cost-effective application: automatic network maps,
asset management reports, network monitor, and remote administration
and distribution.
LANsurveyor generates a map of your entire network automatically using
several different methods, including ICMP (ping), NetBIOS, and SNMP.
Maps can be printed or exported for display or editing in Visio or
other editing programs.

Continuous Scan
---------------
You can use any map (or maps) as a baseline for your network. Once you
start Continuous Scan, LANsurveyor continuously searches your network
for new nodes and compares those nodes to the ones that already exist
on your map.
Once a new node is discovered, LANsurveyor adds the node to the Threat
List. The Threat List includes information about when the node was
detected and the node name, IP address, MAC address, the hub or switch
the node is connected to, and the port number used for the connection.
Once on the Threat List, Continuous Scan attempts to authenticate the
node.
In a managed switch environment, you can disable network access for
rogue nodes directly from the Threat List or automatically disable
network access for all rogue nodes.
LANsurveyor attempts to authenticate any new node discovered by
Continuous Scan.
If the new node has a Neon Responder with the correct password, "Neon
Responder" is displayed for Authentication. If the new node has SNMP
enabled with a community string stored with the LANsurveyor map, "SNMP
Community String" is displayed. If the node is not authenticated,
"None" is displayed.
XML Server Add-On
-----------------
The XML Server add-on allows you to access your Neon Responder report
data from any computer-or only from the computers you specify.
