AdvancedChecker is a scripting language for Windows NT, Windows 2000,
and Windows XP that lets you easily program scripts to check, set,
and enforce your network-wide Windows NT security and intrusion
detection policies. It gives you unprecedented power and flexibility
in one, comprehensive, easy-to-use package. AdvancedChecker will
fundamentally change the way you audit, monitor, install, and manage
the security of your Windows NT networks, especially if you are an
advanced administrator of a diverse, enterprise network.
AdvancedChecker scripts can be quite simple. For example, the script
that checks that auditing is enabled (or the Guest account disabled)
for all computers in a specified domain C and sends you E-mail
telling you which ones are not C is just a few lines. Because
AdvancedChecker is a flexible and powerful language with user-defined
variables, parameterized functions, and a host of flexible control
statements, you can create advanced tools that do precisely what you
need them to do C customized to your own unique security and auditing
requirements.
AdvancedChecker's security strength is its stable of over 350
built-in functions that work as easily over an entire Windows NT
network as on a single host. Its security capabilities include:
- Check and set Audit, Rights, and Accounts Policies, and User
Accounts and Groups.
- Fetch, set, and check ACL's and ownership of files, directories,
the Registry, and share directories ¿C as well as Audit SACL's.
- Read, process, and control Windows NT's Security Log.
- Read, write, and manage files, directories, and Registry keys.
- Run any command line program and capture its output. Notify your
administrators by E-mail.
- Create cryptographic digital signatures to assure data has not been
tampered.
- Traverse entire file system and Registry trees ("tree walking")
checking its items' ACL's, integrity, and so forth.
- Manage the Windows 2000 Active Directory.
The Checker Editor is an advanced text editor that lets you create
Checker scripts and run them from inside the Editor. The Editor
includes: color coded language elements; syntax-check and runs from
within the editor; "project" support; file comparison with
color-coded differences; multi-file find; auto-indent; highlighting
of matching brackets; user-defined, auto-record editing macros. And
of course, it comes with a complete Help system. AdvancedChecker uses
Windows NT native security services and remote authentication. This
means your Checker programs are controlled and audited as strongly as
Windows NT's own network management functions. You don't need to
install AdvancedChecker on each computer it manages C one copy
installed on a central host can manage all the computers on your
network (subject to license restrictions, of course). AdvancedChecker
is fully Year-2000 compliant. We believe that AdvancedChecker will
fundamentally change the way that beginning and especially advanced
networking administrators monitor and manage the security of their
networks. It gives you unprecedented power and flexibility in one,
easy-to-use package that we are committed to expand and improve
