Why FIX ?
#1 : In their poor attempt to write their propaganda NFO,
Instinct forgot to test correctly the game they were
trying to "rip".
When you change the texture quality in the options, the
game crashes.
And when trying to restart game after quitting (with ALT+F4
or Killing process) , the game is still messed, you can't
locate anything in the menu.
So the only solution for enduser is to reinstall the whole
rip again (damn we have to wait again over 15 minutes coz
they build zip packages as it was absolutely not necessary)
With this fix you don't have to reinstall whole rip if game
messed, you just need to run Reset_Config.exe & restart
the game (of course you have to set again your preferences,
but don't worry savings are still available).
More about their so called rip :
Instinct added Low Quality textures which make their rip really
bigger.
If they checked documentation they would see that compressed textures
fit all Graphic cards up to GEFORCE 1 series (that are DX7).
So low textures are dedicated to vidcards below this one, which
represents prolly 0% of gamers dling 0day gamerips, as those cards
are DX7 or below.
More proof : this game uses the sudden strike engine & Myth is used
to let only compressed textures for games using this engine too ...
Instinct decide to build zip packages which was not necessary.
We suppose they did it coz it takes less space on drive because
data are compressed, but it makes the unpack longer : some
stats : just the zipping process takes close to 15 minutes on
a 3Ghz proc with Sata drives...
And furthermore if you let the files unpacked, the game will
load faster because they don't need to be unpacked.
All other teams (including myth & dvn) never rebuild package
files if it's not necessary & especially when files are packed...
Who is the amateur ?
Concerning files added to system dirs, of course we check on every
release the updates or added libraries made on windows partition,
this is a basic.
The fact is that the installer did not replaced old libraries (dated
2000 & 2001) that are already present on the rip putter.
So after your fix, we decide to install our rip on a freshly installed
winXP just to be sure that the libs you were providing were necessary
to run the game on winXP.And of course the game was running...
Generally we ignore attacks, but this time, opponent was really doing
propaganda.
Reading their nfo let you think they are gods of rip or whatever,
check yourself doing a site search -instinct on a ranked top and
make your opinion concerning amount of gamerips released on past 6 months
and kind of game they rip.
Don't believe they are gifted, because they are not, they only do what
all rippers use to call "easy rips".
They called us amateurs, but if we are amateurs, they are noobs.
Some tec members are working for several teams including highly respected
ones (nah no name lol) which is a proof that we have gifted members...
(sorry, but it's our turn to do propaganda :) ).
So to conclude you are not the first team trying to kill us, but keep
in mind that the only way to stop us is to call 0800-MAFIA and to put
a contract on our heads.
We will keep on our hard work because we really love games.
We will read you seriously when you will show through the quality
of your rips that you are providing hard work too (ie : extracting Non generic
data from unknown package fileformat for instance).
The only point we agree is that nukers shouldn't nuke for bad installers
because a rip can be unaced manually.
Our installers are not working on processors with Hyper-threading technology
because the delphi compiler produced executables not compatible with HT.
So we will mention in nfos to unace manually if you have a HT processor untill
we find a way to fix.
