CLUE: Murder at Boddy Mansion by Hasbro Interactive
"No CD" crack done by DiTTo 1/9/99
There are 2 steps to this crack. First, copy CLUECRK.EXE to the
directory where you installed the game, and run it. It will patch
CLUE.EXE.
Second, copy the ClueCookie.txt file to the root of your C: drive.
This crack WILL NOT WORK unless this file is located at that exact spot.
This patch recognizes 2 versions of Clue - the original version on the CD
and version 2.2 which is a patch available from www.hasbro-interactive.com.
If your version of Clue isn't recognized by the crack, you can probably just
manually hex-edit CLUE.EXE to apply the patch. Here are the instructions:
Search for: 52 DD D5 83 F8 05 75
Change to : 52 DD D5 83 F8 03 75

This tells Clue to read the first hard drive rather than the CD-ROM drive
when searching for ClueCookie.txt, which is the "key" file used to verify the
CD is actually in the drive. This key file can be 0 bytes, it simply has to
exist.
