Scalable architecture
With support for Access and SQL Server in the same package,
amberCat will scale up to meet your needs without needing
to change your helpdesk solution.
Self-help
Users can log calls from their browser, check on the status
of their previous calls, and search the knowledge base for
solutions.
Company, site and user explorer
AmberCat includes a customer database that models the way
your business is structured, with multiple sites per
company, and users linked to each site. Calls can easily
be viewed by company, site or user.
Asset management
Any kind of asset can be included in the database, linked
to a company, site or individual user. A change history
allows you to track upgrades and movements.
Multiple actions per call
Each call can have multiple actions, providing a full
record of the work done. Actions can be added to the
Knowledge Base, capturing solutions at the point of entry
for future use.
Time and charge recording
Time usage and charges can be recorded for every action.
Fixed charges (such as call-out charges) and ad-hoc charges
(for expenses or materials) can also be recorded.
Workflow
Calls can be routed to specific individuals or groups,
depending on the type of call, and re-routed when the
status changes.
SLA Management
Service Level Agreements allow you to specify deadlines
for different call types, escalate overdue calls, and
send alerts by email.
Email integration
Your customers can log calls by email, and get an automatic
receipt. Alerts and notifications can be sent automatically,
using customizable templates for the messages.
Knowledge base
The knowledge base includes all your call history, plus
procedures for dealing with known issues. Documents can be
linked to the procedures. A full-text search plus a
procedures index provide quick and easy retrieval.
Built-in diary
A diary is automatically provided for every support person.
Diary entries are linked to the contact database, so you
can check appointments for specific customers.
User configurable
amberCat can easily be configured to suit your business
needs. Tables allow you to define your own call types,
statuses, charge rates, etc. You can add fields and
drop-down lists.
