Whats new in version 2.5:
1. Removed ICQ cleaning functions - This is due to the new ICQ 0.99a changes.
Unfortunately it is no longer possible for an external program to edit or remove
the history logs of ICQ. If anyone is aware of a way to do this, please let us know
and we will implement cleaning of ICQ 0.99a into a future version.
2. Added MS-Office 97 Most Recently Used Lists - Now Window Washer will clean the recently
used lists of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and MS-Photo Editor. These lists include
the main list under the FILE option, the OPEN list, the SAVE AS list, and the INSERT
PICTURE list.
3. Greatly improved bleach function. Number of overwrite can be set for 1 to 10.
Bleaching a file can now respects the DOD 5220.22-M directive for sanitizing a
file on a Non-Removable Rigid Disk or a Removable Rigid Disk and the NSA approved
seven-pass file erasure method.
4. Fixed recycle bin bug. Now the recycle bin will appear empty after a wash (icon changes
to empty after a reboot). Previously after a wash the icon for the recycle bin would
still show as full.
5. Added ability to clean the America Online Cache/Drop Down List. This option can be found
under the Internet Explorer Options menu.
6. Added PLUGIN ability for CUSTOM WASH ITEMS! Visit http://www.webroot.com/plugin.htm for
current plugin downloads. Custom Wash Item Plugins clean most recently used lists and other
tracks/uneeded files from popular utilities such as RealPlayer and more.
7. Added a CANCEL button during a wash. The will allow a user to abort a wash at any time.
Whats new in version 2.4:
1. Author Note: After this version (2.4) we will be removing the clean ICQ feature.
This is due to the changes ICQ has undergone in it's latest version (0.99a). The
database files are no longer available to be cleaned individually. Also, ICQ's new
API does not allow for the cleaning of history/message lists. However, to replace this
feature we will be adding the ability to clean the Most Recently Used lists of MS-OFFICE 97.
2. Changed '!' buttons to 'info' buttons also added more information under these buttons
for various options.
3. Added "Drive Space Restored" count and "Items Washed" count to Washing status window
4. Fixed problem with cleaning recent document history on some versions of Windows 98
5. Added ability to clean "streams" in Windows 98. Streams store information in the
Windows registry about what a user has been doing on a system, such as which programs
they run, what images they view, what files they open, etc.
Whats new in version 2.2:
Added command line wash support. This is useful for adding Window Washer to the
System Agent: "Windows Task Scheduler" or adding Window Washer to a batch file.
The command line wash switch is: "\washer.exe /a".
Example: "c:\program files\washer\washer.exe /a"
Added support for Netscape 4.5 and IE 5.0 beta. However, as of this release (11/8/98)
IE5 is still in public beta so support for the FINAL IE 5 release is not guaranteed
in this version.
Whats new in version 2.1:
Added Wild Card support for "Custom Wash Items"
Fixed problem with auto start option
Whats new in version 2.0:
Added ability to change the "Standard Wash Items" default directories
Improved support for cleaning Netscape 3.x, 4.06, 4.5

Note for Network Administrators of public systems, such
as libraries and Internet Cafes:
This program is very useful for automatically cleaning
the tracks of the previous users of a system. This is
helpful in protecting the previous users privacy from
the next users of that system. It is also helpful
in keeping the public systems drive space usage to
minimum.

When Window Washer is running there will be a little squeegee icon
next to your clock on the Windows Taskbar. If you click once on the
squeegee icon a menu will appear. Select "WASH NOW" from the menu
to wash all your items. Select "SETTINGS" from the menu to configure
your wash items and other features of Window Washer. Select "QUIT" to
close the Window Washer program.
