PocoMail is an easy to use and powerful email program that is not
vulnerable to common email security exploits. It offers unique
virus protection, intelligent filtering capabilities, and simple
administration.
Why is PocoMail unique? Sarah Lane of TechTV wrote:
Unlike some competing products, PocoMail doesn't use the
Internet Explorer component to preview your HTML messages.
Instead it uses an internal HTML viewer.
PocoMail does not understand VBScript or JavaScript, which are
used to write email viruses.
PocoMail will not run PocoScript, its own scripting language, from
messages you receive. While VBScript and JavaScript let a third
-party control your mailer, PocoScript was designed to let you
better control your mailer. You'll need to enable PocoScript on a
message (to better process it) before the script can run
In addition, PocoMail provides you with protection from spam and
email viruses that no other email program can match. Protect
yourself from spam and email viruses with great alternative to
Microsoft Outlook. PocoMail also provides an integrated learning
Bayesian junk mail filter for greater filtering accuracy.
When you download a message with live HTML tags, the tags
reference an image stored on the sender's computer (owned, for
example, by a telemarketer, a hacker, etc). Since the embedded
location link is unique to your message, the sender can find out if
you've received the message, if and how many times you've read
it. The sender can even determine your IP address. Spammers
use this tactic to verify "live" addresses in their database so they
can send you more junk mail or sell your address. Even if you
delete or block the email, they know you're there.
