CenterTools DriveLock is a software
solution which is able to lock removable
drives on a computer. Once installed,
DriveLock locks (based on configuration)
all or some of the removable drives
installed on a machine. Locking is also
done dynamically if a new device is
attached to the system (such as plugging
in a USB memory stick).
DriveLockÆs configuration allows you to
lock only specific types of removable
devices, define exceptions or allow
lists based on either user accounts or
group with granted access to devices or
a list of devices that are allowed to
connect to a computer.
Once a device is locked, userÆs simply
retrieve ôAccess deniedö messages when
trying to access the device. If you
attach a device to a machine, drive
letters appear (showing correct
plug-and-play hardware detection) but
access to the drive is denied.
The ability to configure settings using
Group Policy further allows for a
comfortable and easy configuration of an
enterprise network.
