DSSF3 is the sound measurement and the analysis system
developed for the latest research in the field of acoustics.
DSSF3 was initially developed as a research tool for the
concert hall acoustics. It was required to enable the automatic
measurement of the impulse response and the in-situ calculation
of the acoustical parameters, to support the concert hall
measurement and the scale model experiment. On this account,
from the start of our development, the wide range of functions
had been required on the software specification, and we thought
it is necessary to divide the program into several parts.
The program taking the sound measurement was named "Realtime
Analyzer / RA", which is the measurement system equipped with
the signal generator, the real-time analyzer functions such as
the FFT analyzer, the sound level meter and the oscilloscope.
The program for the sound analysis was named "Sound Analyzer /
SA". This is the analysis software to calculate the various
acoustical parameters used in the concert hall acoustics and in
the audio analysis. These two programs had been developed as
the main program of "DSSF3".
Subsequently, the software for the field measurement of the
environmental noise, "Environmental noise analyzer / EA", was
added to the DSSF3. Currently, the functions of the DSSF3 is
more updated based on the high time resolution correlation
analysis for supporting the developing research fields in
acoustics, such as sound source identification and speech
recognition in the real environment, and biomedical sound
analysis for the telemedicine.
