Release Notes for:
iMapR v2.0
March 20, 1999
__________________________________________________________
################# INSTALL: #################################
If you're reading this you have already expanded the iMapR20.zip.
This software requires the VB5 SP3 runtimes, but these are included in the install file.
If you are prompted with the question, during install, whether to overwrite a newer version
of a file being installed, or to keep your version -- definitely, KEEP YOUR newer FILE.
These VB runtimes seeem large and ponderous... but the nicest thing about them
is that they are always backward-compatible. [In other words, if you have a version
newer than those included with iMapR, iMapR will work with them, too.
Complete install and uninstall is included. With Windows, simple go into Control Panel,
Install/Remove Software, and iMapR will be listed. The zip file, iMapR20.zip, was
scanned for viruses with Norton Antvirus v5.0.
################ TO USE: ######################################
iMapR is an image-mapper that I take pride in having given an intuitive user-interface.
A brief help file going over right and left mouse-click options is included. (Right-click, Help)
Simply drop a picture file onto iMaR and go... SQUARE is the default map shape, options
are on brief menu on left ov interface. iMapR automatically rescales itself to map different
size images. JPG and GIF files are supported at this time. PNG soon, if I have enough requests.
RIGHT MOUSE-CLICK: opens menu to save in different formats, Help file or to OPEN a
file through the usual Windows dialog, rather than drag N drop.
LEFT MOUSE-CLICK: used with click on a mapped (which will be highlighted) area of the current
image. Gives you ability to DELETE the mapped area, or ENTER URL/target information for a
particular area of the map. Can choose any area of the map at any time.
Software Status: Trialware(demo), redistributable with this file included.
